How to play Batak Trump Spades.

Number of Players: 4.

The game uses a standard 52-card deck. Each player receives 13 cards. All spade cards are trumps.

In Swamp Trump Spades, only spades are called as trump.

The goal is to predict how many tricks you can take before the round begins and then win at least that many.

Starting to the dealer’s right, each player declares how many tricks they will take, and this is recorded on the scoreboard.

Gameplay:

The next player leads with any card if the table is empty; otherwise, they must follow the suit of the card already played.

If they cannot follow suit, they may play a trump card; otherwise, they may play any card.

Scoring:

At the end of each round, scores are calculated based on the number of tricks a player bid versus the number they actually won.

If they meet or exceed their bid:

10 × Bid + (Tricks won − Bid) points.

If they win fewer tricks than their bid:

They lose 10 points for each trick they bid.

If a player bids zero tricks at the start of the round:

They earn +50 points for taking zero tricks, or lose -50 points if they take any trick.

"Settling" refers to failing to meet your bid by the end of the game.
