FortiToken Mobile is a robust One-Time Password (OTP) generator app designed for mobile devices, offering both event-based and time-based authentication. This app aligns with the OATH standard and serves as the client component in Fortinet’s comprehensive, secure, and cost-effective multi-factor authentication (MFA) solution. To leverage its full capabilities, you must pair it with FortiOS, FortiAuthenticator, or FortiToken Cloud for OTP validation services.

Privacy and Control:

Rest assured, FortiToken Mobile maintains your privacy without compromising your device's functionality. It does not alter your phone settings, capture images or videos, record or transmit audio, or access your emails. It cannot view your browsing history and requires your explicit permission to send notifications or modify settings. Additionally, FortiToken Mobile lacks the capability to remotely erase your phone's data. The app's only visibility into your device is to check the OS version for ensuring compatibility with the app's version. During manual setup of FortiToken tokens, 3rd Party tokens, and Token Transfer, you might enter sensitive data like your email address or token seeds.

While FortiToken Mobile operates without altering settings without your consent, here are the permissions it needs for smooth functioning:

• Access to the camera is required for scanning QR codes, simplifying token activation.
• TouchID/FaceID is used to enhance the app's security.
• Internet access is essential for activating tokens and receiving push notifications.
• The "Send Feedback by Email" feature automatically fills in the "Sender" field for your convenience.
• Internal file sharing between apps is necessary for attaching files when using the "Send Feedback by Email" option.
• To prevent data corruption, FortiToken Mobile keeps your phone awake during internal database upgrades.
