Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 5080 Gaming PC Launched at $2,399

by Scarlett May 18,2025

Starting today, Dell is offering an incredible deal on the Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC, featuring the newly released GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, priced at just $2,399.99 with free shipping. This is one of the most competitive prices available for a prebuilt system with the RTX 5080 GPU, especially considering that prices for similar systems have been on the rise since the RTX 50 series was launched in January. At Dell, the only other prebuilt PC with an RTX 5080 GPU is listed at over $4,000. Finding a standalone RTX 5080 GPU for a DIY build could cost you as much as this fully assembled system.

The RTX 5080, one of the new Blackwell graphics cards, is currently in high demand and difficult to find. In our review of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE, Jackie noted, "If you already have a high-end graphics card from the last couple of years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 might not offer significant advantages – its performance edge over the RTX 4080 is minimal, though the DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation does enhance visuals in compatible games. However, for gamers upgrading from older graphics cards, the RTX 5080 delivers a substantial performance boost, especially when leveraging Nvidia's AI technologies."

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis

Dell introduced the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis retains a similar look to the 2024 R16 model but features updated aesthetics, cooling, and components. The I/O panel is now at the top of the case, and the tempered glass window covers the entire side panel, eliminating the need for side vents. Air intakes are now positioned at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design that typically results in a cleaner interior. The internal components have been upgraded with a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest CPUs and RTX 50 series GPUs.
