During this eagerly awaited livestream, developers from Gearbox Software will dive deep into the world of Borderlands 4, the latest installment in the beloved FPS series. According to a PlayStation.blog post dated April 29, the State of Play will feature over 20 minutes of "developer-guided gameplay," showcasing missions, powerful weapons, thrilling Action Skills, and introducing both new and returning characters.

Launch Date Moved to September 12

In a surprising turn of events, following the State of Play announcement, Gearbox Entertainment CEO Randy Pitchford shared a video on Twitter (X) on April 29, revealing that Borderlands 4's launch date has been moved up to September 12. Although he quickly deleted the video and followed up with another post, saying it was posted prematurely, the news was out.

In the video, Pitchford explained that the development team has been making fantastic progress, describing the situation as "everything’s going kinda the best scenario." This positive development has allowed them to bring the game's release forward. Originally set for September 23, as announced during PlayStation’s February State of Play, Borderlands 4's official Twitter (X) account later confirmed the new, earlier launch date.

The official post from Borderlands 4’s Twitter (X) reads, "After careful consideration–along with A LOT of meetings, playtestings, and incredible development work–we have made the monumental decision to MOVE UP THE LAUNCH DATE OF BORDERLANDS 4 to SEPTEMBER 12."
