In a statement released on The Witcher's official Twitter (X) account on April 16, the team addressed the fraudulent invitations that have been misleading fans. "We've been taking the necessary steps to take this fraudulent messaging down," the post stated, urging fans to report any suspicious invites using the tools available on their email clients or social media platforms. They emphasized that any legitimate future beta tests would be announced first through The Witcher's official channels.

CD Projekt Red posted on The Witcher’s official Twitter (X) on April 16 that they received reports from the community that they are being invited to a beta test for The Witcher 4, which is a scam.

The post read, "We've been taking the necessary steps to take this fraudulent messaging down. That said, if you receive any invites to or stumble upon news of one, we kindly ask you to report the scam using the tools available to you in your email client or the social media platform you are using."

They added that if there were beta tests in the future, players would first hear about it on The Witcher’s official social media and websites.
