10-Minute Overview Trailer

With Elden Ring Nightreign's launch on the horizon, fans of the multiplayer Souls RPG are eager to dive in. FromSoftware released an insightful overview trailer on May 2, detailing the game's lore, features, and mechanics.

The trailer describes ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN as "a co-op survival action game where you navigate a vast and dangerous field with other players. You must become one of the Nightfarers, fighting through the endless night and taking on scores of vicious foes over the span of three days."

The video outlines what players can expect from their journey. Players are transported to the land of Limveld to hunt the ruling Nightlords. The objective is to defeat them, involving battling enemies, scavenging for treasures, and more.

The gameplay loop involves gathering resources during the day and confronting bosses at night. As the days progress, the map shrinks, introducing new enemies. By the end of the third day, players face a formidable Nightlord to conclude their expedition.

The trailer emphasizes that "the layout of Limveld will change each time you visit," ensuring a dynamic experience with randomized bases, enemy types, and chest rewards. Players must also be prepared for sudden ambushes and unpredictable events like meteor strikes or volcanic eruptions.

Last 2 Classes Teased

The trailer also teased the final two classes for Nightreign, yet to be officially revealed. A glimpse at the character selection screen introduced a new character, the Executor, depicted as a knight wielding a power-imbued sword. A brief clip showcased him parrying and counterattacking an enemy. Towards the end, another character, a grey-haired female Nightfarer with a harp, was teased.

Anticipation builds as fans await detailed character trailers for these Nightfarers in the coming weeks, leading up to the game's release.

Nightreign features a base called the Roundtable Hold, where players can prepare for their Limveld battles. This hidden area allows players to equip relics, purchase items, and customize their characters.

Relics, found during expeditions, enhance players' abilities and can be combined in various ways to suit different playstyles. These are available at the base from a Jar Merchant, purchasable with "Murk," a currency earned through battle rewards.

The "fitting mirror" at the Roundtable Hold lets players change their characters' attire. These costumes are purely cosmetic, with the trailer showcasing familiar Souls outfits like Solaire of Astora, Faraam, the God of War, and Ringfinger Leonhard from Dark Souls 3.

Players can also collect "fragments of lost memories" during expeditions, which enrich the lore of each Nightfarer and introduce new objectives to uncover their origins and purposes.
