Epic Games Store January 16 Freebie Revealed

Escape Academy is the Epic Games Store's free game offering for January 16th, 2025. This escape-room style puzzle game is the fourth free title offered by the EGS in 2025 and boasts the highest OpenCritic score of any EGS freebie so far this year.

Epic Games Store users have a week, until January 23rd, to claim this free game.

Developed by Coin Crew Games, Escape Academy challenges players to train as "escape room masters" within the game's academy setting. Initially released in July 2022 for PC and consoles, it's now returning as a free offering. The game replaces Turmoil on the EGS storefront.

While Escape Academy was previously a free EGS mystery game on January 1st, 2024, this marks its first week-long free availability on the platform. This timing is particularly beneficial for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as the game is leaving the service on January 15th after an 18-month run.

The announcement of the fifth free game is anticipated on January 16th.
