This accolade, playfully dubbed the "Golden Thunk" award, highlights the immersive experience, stylish presentation, and hidden secrets within Animal Well, praising its creator, Billy Basso of Shared Memory. Basso responded with kind words, acknowledging LocalThunk's humility. The mutual respect between these indie developers and the positive fan reaction underscores the supportive community within the indie game scene.

Beyond Animal Well, LocalThunk also shared his appreciation for several other 2024 indie titles, including Dungeons and Degenerate Gamblers, Arco, Nova Drift, Ballionaire, and Mouthwashing, highlighting specific aspects he enjoyed in each.
