In India, playing cricket in a tight alley, often referred to as a "gully," is considered more thrilling than playing on a traditional field. This unique charm has inspired 5th Ocean Studios, an indie Indian game developer, to launch their latest cricket game, Gully Gangs: Street Cricket, into Open Beta on Android.
Gully Gangs: Street Cricket breaks the mold with its 4v4 multiplayer format set in the heart of Indian gullies—narrow alleys that encapsulate the essence of street cricket. This pioneering game introduces the first-ever 4v4 street cricket experience, complete with rooftop catches, scooters obstructing the play, and the inevitable shouts from nosy neighbors about broken windows. Adding to the fun, players can also engage in 1v1 matches, making the game versatile for all skill levels.
The game's dynamics are enriched with power moves and voice chat features, allowing players to communicate, banter, and even deploy some cunning tricks during matches. Emotes can be dropped mid-game, enhancing the interactive and lively atmosphere. Gully Gangs: Street Cricket immerses players in authentic Indian neighborhood settings, complete with ongoing street life, broken stumps, makeshift pitches, and unpredictable bounces off uneven walls.
Customization is a key feature, letting players form their own gang, dress them in eye-catching outfits, and unlock various skins to showcase their style on the streets.
Currently available in Open Beta on Android, 5th Ocean Studios has ambitious plans for Gully Gangs: Street Cricket. Upcoming updates will introduce new street maps, fresh outfits, regular events, clan wars, and an esports mode. The game will also feature leaderboards, daily and weekly challenges, and exciting gang vs. gang showdowns.
While the game is initially exclusive to Android, expansions to iOS and Steam are on the horizon, along with full controller support and cross-platform play. Interested players can download Gully Gangs: Street Cricket from the Google Play Store and dive into the action.
