MachineGames, the studio behind Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, has confirmed a heartwarming detail: players won't be able to harm dogs in the upcoming game. This decision, and other game features, are detailed below.

While many games feature violence against animals, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle takes a different approach. Creative Director Jens Andersson explained to IGN, "Indiana Jones is a dog person." Despite the action-packed nature of the series, the developers ensured that while Indy can battle human foes, his interactions with dogs are entirely non-lethal. This marks a significant shift from MachineGames' previous work, like Wolfenstein, where animal combat was commonplace.

Andersson further clarified, "It’s a family-friendly IP in many ways," emphasizing the studio's commitment to this gentler approach. "How do we do that well? Well, these are the kind of things that we do. We have dogs as enemies, but you don’t really hurt the dogs. You scare them away."

Set in 1937, between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle begins with Indy pursuing stolen artifacts. His adventure spans diverse locations, from the Vatican to Egyptian pyramids and even the submerged temples of Sukhothai.

Indy’s trusty whip is used for both traversal and combat, allowing him to disarm and subdue human enemies as he explores open-world-inspired environments. Rest assured, dog lovers: Indy's whip will remain firmly out of harm's way when it comes to our four-legged friends.
