Some video games get your heart racing and blood pressure rising—that's what makes them exciting. Others have a calming effect, inducing a state of peaceful meditation. Both types offer unique appeal.
Frike, the debut Android game from indie developer chakahacka, uniquely blends both experiences.
The objective in Frike is simple: survive as long as possible. You control a floating triangle, divided into purple, orange, and green sections. Two buttons on the left control ascent and descent, while a right-side button rotates the triangle.
Frike features a single, yet expansive level—it's infinitely long. You'll never reach the end.
Scattered throughout Frike's atmospheric, abstract world are colored blocks (white, purple, orange, and green). Scoring involves rotating your triangle to match its colored segments with corresponding blocks.

Colliding with too many mismatched or white blocks results in a spectacular explosion. Certain blocks offer bonus effects, slowing your descent to allow for precise maneuvering.
Frike exemplifies a minimalist arcade-casual game. While high-score chasing can be intense, it also offers a relaxing experience, allowing players to simply navigate obstacles and appreciate the visuals.
The game boasts understated visuals paired with a meditative soundtrack of resonant chimes and metallic sounds.
If this sounds appealing, download Frike for free now from the Google Play Store.
