The lead developers of the eagerly anticipated life simulation game, inZOI, recently addressed fan inquiries, particularly around the sensitive topic of sexual intercourse in the game. The assistant director's response was notably vague, avoiding explicit terms like "sex." Instead, they hinted that when a male and female ZOI go to bed together, the intention might be to create children, leaving the visual interpretation up to the player's imagination.
Perhaps that’s exactly what’s happening, but not at the level everyone expected.
This has left players uncertain about whether inZOI will handle sexual content similarly to The Sims series, with censorship, or if it will introduce a novel approach.
The developers also clarified the decision for ZOIs to shower in towels rather than using pixelated censorship. They explained that pixelation can appear overly sexualized in games with realistic graphics, fitting better in more cartoonish styles. Additionally, they revealed a technical issue where pixelated censorship would fail to appear in mirror reflections, further justifying their choice.
For those curious about the game's content, looking at its ratings provides some clarity. inZOI has been rated ESRB - T (for teens) and is expected to receive a PEGI 12 rating, aligning with the ratings assigned to The Sims 4.
