Monster Hunter Now is buzzing with excitement as Niantic introduces a new feature for testing called Monster Outbreaks. This event is designed to gather player feedback and ensure the feature is finely tuned before it becomes a permanent part of the game.
The Monster Outbreaks testing phase is scheduled from April 26th to 27th. It will run for a couple of hours each day, specifically twice daily on both Saturday and Sunday. The event times are from 10:00 to 10:59 a.m. and again from 3:00 to 3:59 p.m., local time.
During these outbreaks, certain points on the map will suddenly be swarmed by 8-star Black Diablos. The challenge is for you and other players to team up and take down a total of 100 Black Diablos at each outbreak spot within the one-hour window. Remember, this count is per outbreak location, not a global total.
To participate, you need to be at least Hunter Rank (HR) 11. Note that the party feature won’t be available; only in-person group hunts will count towards the goal.
Outbreak points will be clearly marked on the map with a special icon. By tapping on these icons, you can view details about the outbreaks. Additionally, a sign-up roster is available at each spot, allowing you to coordinate with other hunters on when you plan to participate.
The way the slay count works is intriguing. If you and three other hunters take down one monster, it counts as four towards the goal of 100. If your group reaches the 100-mark before the hour ends, you can continue hunting Black Diablos for the remainder of the time, as they will be the only monsters spawning during these outbreaks.
There are exciting rewards for those who successfully complete the challenge. If your group hits the 100-monster goal, each participant will receive 3 Black Diablos Tailcases, 3 Ridges, 3 Primeshells, 3 Marrows, and 2,000 Zenny. Additionally, if you utilize the sign-up roster, you'll be eligible for a special Outbreak Test I Medal.
