NVIDIA RTX 5090: Leaked Specs Hint at Performance Dominance

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090: 32GB GDDR7 Memory and 575W Power Consumption

Leaked specifications suggest Nvidia's upcoming GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card will feature a substantial 32GB of GDDR7 video memory—double that of the anticipated RTX 5080 and 5070 Ti. This high-performance card will, however, demand a significant 575W power supply. The official unveiling of the entire RTX 50 series, including the RTX 5090, is scheduled for Nvidia's CES 2025 keynote on January 6th.

The RTX 50 series, codenamed Blackwell, represents Nvidia's next-generation graphics card lineup, arriving over two years after the RTX 40 series launch. Leveraging Nvidia's Tensor Cores for AI processing, the RTX 50 series will incorporate DLSS upscaling, ray tracing, and PCIe 5.0 support (on compatible motherboards). This new generation will replace the RTX 40 series (some models of which, like the RTX 4090D and RTX 4070, have already been discontinued) and compete directly with AMD's Radeon RX 9000 and Intel's Battlemage GPUs.

Pre-CES leaks, initially reported by VideoCardz, showcased Inno3D's iChill X3 RTX 5090. This triple-fan card occupies more than three expansion slots. The packaging confirmed the 32GB GDDR7 memory and the substantial 575W power draw—a considerable jump from the RTX 4090's 450W.

RTX 5090: High Memory, High Cost

The RTX 5090's impressive 32GB GDDR7 memory comes at a price. The 575W power draw necessitates a robust power supply. While Nvidia remains tight-lipped on pricing, rumors suggest an MSRP exceeding $1,999.

The RTX 50 series will utilize a 16-pin power connector, though adapters will be provided. The RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti will be revealed alongside the RTX 5090 during Nvidia's CES presentation on January 6th.
