Pokémon Legends: Z-A Release Date Allegedly Revealed

Pokemon Legends: Z-A: August 2025 Release Date Leak and February 2025 Confirmation Speculation

A potential release date for Pokemon Legends: Z-A has surfaced online, pointing towards an August 15, 2025 launch. This date, initially listed by Amazon UK in early January 2025 and quickly removed, aligns with The Pokémon Company's previously stated 2025 release window.

Initially unveiled during the February 2024 Pokémon Day celebrations, Pokemon Legends: Z-A is anticipated as a sequel to the exploration-focused Pokemon Legends: Arceus (2022). Unlike prior entries, Arceus prioritized open-world exploration and collection over traditional gym battles and the Pokémon League. Since its announcement, official information on Z-A has been scarce.

The Amazon UK listing leak, discovered by content creator Light88, briefly displayed August 15, 2025, before reverting to a December 31 placeholder. This August date fits within the previously announced timeframe.

February 2025 Pokémon Day: A Potential Reveal?

The legitimacy of the leaked date aside, a formal announcement is likely imminent. Similar to its initial announcement during Pokémon Day 2024, the release date could be revealed during the 2025 event, scheduled for February 27th – the anniversary of the original Japanese Pokémon Red and Green releases. This date has been corroborated by a dataminer's findings within the latest Pokémon GO build.

Beyond the release date, fans anticipate a gameplay reveal, potentially debuting at the same February 2025 Pokémon Presents broadcast.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A is confirmed for Nintendo Switch and will also be playable on the upcoming Switch 2, thanks to backward compatibility. While past mainline Pokémon games have featured paid DLC, Pokemon Legends: Arceus only received one free post-launch update, "Daybreak."
