Riot Games made a notable appearance at this year's DICE Summit, where co-founder Marc Merrill sat down with Stephen Totilo to discuss exciting future projects. One of the most ambitious goals on Merrill's radar is the development of a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game set within the expansive universe of League of Legends and its hit series, Arcane.

Merrill revealed that the MMO project consumes a significant portion of his time. His passion for the genre, coupled with his belief in its potential, fuels his dedication. He's confident that this commitment, alongside the League of Legends community's eagerness to dive deeper into their beloved universe, will contribute to the game's success. However, specific details about the MMO, such as a release date, were not disclosed. In a light-hearted comment, Merrill expressed his hope that the game would be ready before humans set foot on Mars, leaving fans curious about when they might explore this new world.

In addition to the MMO, Riot Games is also developing another title set in the League of Legends universe: 2XKO, a highly anticipated fighting game. Unlike the MMO, 2XKO has already generated buzz with its trailers and has a confirmed release window. Fans won't have to wait long, as it's slated to launch before the year's end.
