Sybo Games has quietly released a new mobile title, Subway Surfers City, on iOS and Android. This soft launch currently targets select regions.
The game, a sequel to the wildly popular Subway Surfers, boasts improved graphics and incorporates many features added to the original over its long lifespan. Expect to see familiar characters alongside new additions like hoverboards.
Currently, the iOS soft launch includes the UK, Canada, Denmark, Indonesia, Netherlands, and the Philippines. Android users in Denmark and the Philippines can also access the game.
A Bold Move?
Sybo's decision to create a sequel to their flagship game is a significant risk. The original Subway Surfers, while immensely popular, is showing its age, particularly due to limitations of its Unity engine. The stealth launch strategy is intriguing, especially considering Subway Surfers' global reach.
The reception to Subway Surfers City will be crucial. We eagerly await its wider release and hope it meets player expectations. In the meantime, explore our top five mobile games of the week or check out our curated list of the best mobile games of 2024.
