Turtle Beach is Ending Its Partnership With Dr Disrespect

Following recent allegations surrounding his 2020 Twitch ban, Turtle Beach has severed its partnership with Dr Disrespect. The gaming accessory company had a long-standing relationship with the streamer, including a collaborative headset.

The allegations, made by former Twitch employee Cody Conners, claim Dr Disrespect engaged in inappropriate conduct involving a minor via Twitch's Whispers service. These claims prompted a significant backlash, leading Turtle Beach to announce the termination of its sponsorship and the removal of Dr Disrespect's merchandise from its website. This followed a multi-year deal signed in 2020 to sponsor Turtle Beach's ROCCAT brand and included the release of a co-branded headset.

This isn't Dr Disrespect's only recent setback. Midnight Society, a game studio he co-founded, also ended its association with him following the surfacing of these allegations. While initially believing in his innocence, Midnight Society ultimately decided to part ways.

Dr Disrespect vehemently denies the accusations, stating no wrongdoing was acknowledged during his Twitch ban and that the matter was resolved with Twitch in 2020. He has also announced a break from streaming, potentially extending his planned vacation in light of the current controversy. The duration of his hiatus and future plans remain unclear.
