Umamusume: Pretty Derby is galloping towards its English debut, set to launch globally on June 26, 2025. The announcement came via a tweet from developer Cygames on April 27, with pre-registrations opening the very next day on April 28.

Originally launched in Japan on February 24, 2021, for iOS, Android, and PC, the game offers a unique blend of racing simulation and storytelling. In Umamusume: Pretty Derby, legendary racehorses are reborn as "horse girls" or "Umamusume," combining the appearance of high school girls with the traits of horses—ears, tails, endurance, and speed. These characters train at Tokyo's Tracen Academy, striving to become renowned racers and idols.

As described on its Steam page, the game lets players "scout featured trainees and supporters as you navigate the immersive sports life simulation through the game’s in-depth training system and top-of-the-line 3D graphics!" Players can engage with a gacha system, choosing from over 20 different Uma Musumes to scout, train, and compete in races, showcasing stunning performances.

PocketGamer.biz reported in March 2025 that the Japanese version of Umamusume: Pretty Derby amassed over $2.5 billion in mobile revenue within just four years, nearly hitting the $1 billion mark in its launch year of 2021. Cygames aims to replicate this success on a global scale with the English version.

Following the announcement of the English release date, Cygames opened pre-registrations on April 28, offering players a variety of rewards to kickstart their racing journey. These include:
