UK developer Poncle offers a PlayStation update on the popular roguelike, Vampire Survivors. The game, initially launched in December 2021, has already seen success on PC and Nintendo Switch. Its PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 ports, announced in April for a Summer 2024 release, are currently undergoing final development.
While a precise release date remains unconfirmed, Poncle assures fans it will be shared as soon as possible. The delay, according to the developer's recent Twitter posts, stems from the unfamiliarity of navigating PlayStation's submission process and the intricacies of implementing the Trophy system. Vampire Survivors, boasting over 200 achievements on Steam, aims to replicate a similarly rewarding experience on PlayStation consoles.
PlayStation 4 & 5 Release Window:
Poncle's transparency regarding the PlayStation releases has been well-received by fans, many expressing excitement at the prospect of earning a Platinum Trophy—a testament to completing all the game's achievements.
The recent May releases included Operation Guns, a DLC inspired by Konami's Contra franchise, introducing new biomes, characters (11), automatic weapons (22), and classic Contra music. A subsequent hotfix, 1.10.105, addressed bugs within both the base game and the Operation Guns expansion.
