Wild Rift Patch 6.1 Goes Cosmic in Mid-April

by Riley May 13,2025

LoL: Wild Rift Patch 6.1: Ascending Stars is gearing up for a thrilling launch later this month, promising a cosmic transformation across menus and battlefields. Players will dive into the Dual Nova galaxy, exploring the realms of the Challenger’s Star and Adventure’s Star.

This update introduces three dynamic new champions, each bringing unique game-changing abilities to the fray. Ryze, the Rune Mage, unleashes massive area-of-effect damage and can teleport teammates across the map with his Realm Warp ability. Nocturne, the Eternal Nightmare, thrives on chaos, using his Paranoia to plunge enemies into darkness. Lastly, Zilean, the Chronokeeper, manipulates time, slowing enemies and reviving allies with Chronoshift.

Several champions are also receiving significant reworks. Garen’s Courage now scales over time, enhancing his tankiness, while his Judgment ability will now shred enemy armor. Ambessa transitions from the jungle to the Baron lane with adjustments to her damage and life steal. Smaller tweaks are also coming for Diana, Fiora, Jax, Sona, and Kalista.

Beyond champion changes, the patch introduces a Bandle-inspired Rift in non-Ranked modes, featuring Enchanted Gifts that spawn through portals during the laning phase. Mages will benefit from new item updates, including the Bandle Fantasy item for extra burst damage, Hextech GLP800 for slowing enemies with frost bombs, and Malignance to enhance ultimate abilities.

Ranked mode is set to evolve with the launch of the Challenger’s Star, marking the start of a new season. This update includes enhancements to the Ranked store and an easier way to earn seasonal rewards. Mid-patch, the Adventure’s Star will unlock, introducing AAAARAM, a revamped ARAM mode with augments and galactic visuals.

The Wild Pass will feature two stunning skins: Wondertown Twisted Fate and Battlecast Nasus. Twisted Fate’s new look introduces an entirely fresh skinline, adding more excitement to the game.

LoL: Wild Rift’s Patch 6.1 is scheduled for release on April 16th. For more details, visit the official website.
