READY! for Kindergarten stands as the leading school readiness program, crafted by The Children's Reading Foundation for children aged 2 to 5—or older children needing support in core skills.

The READY! for Kindergarten app equips parents to prepare their children for academic success through engaging, interactive gameplay. Each game focuses on developing a specific core skill, designed to be played repeatedly for optimal learning. Young learners thrive best when exposed to hundreds of repetitions in a nurturing setting.

Tap the "i" in the bottom-right corner of each game icon for detailed insights into the targeted skill. As your child plays, the app tracks progress in the reports section, offering comparisons to peers of similar ages in the U.S., helping you tailor support where needed.

Geared toward ages 2 to 5, the app’s games introduce foundational skills such as singing the ABC song, matching letter shapes, identifying letter sounds, expanding vocabulary, counting to 30, and recognizing emotions.

The READY! program is built on 26 Age-Level Targets—measurable skills essential for a typical 5-year-old entering kindergarten. Developed by early education experts in collaboration with families, scientists, and educators over seven years, these targets are grounded in research.

In 2013, READY! for Kindergarten earned recognition with a Top 100 Award from District Administration Magazine.
