Stroop Effect Test

Experience the Stroop Effect and challenge your mind with this interactive test.

This app demonstrates a fascinating cognitive phenomenon where the brain processes conflicting information—such as a color name written in a different ink color—creating a mental challenge.

The Stroop Test effectively engages and exercises your cognitive control.

Neuroscience insight: Visual signals from the eyes reach the brain faster than the rational mind can process word meanings, creating a natural timing conflict.

Under time pressure, this neural mismatch triggers automatic responses. You must consciously focus and use willpower to override incorrect impulses and achieve faster, more accurate responses.

How to play:

Begin by selecting one of two modes. The default mode is "Stroop Effect" (labeled "Get Meaning, Put Color" in the menu).

When the game starts, a question appears. Choose the correct answer by clicking one of the four color-coded buttons.

Your primary goal is to achieve as many correct answers as possible throughout the test sequence.

Once you consistently answer correctly, challenge yourself to improve your reaction speed and complete questions faster.

Features:

1. "Get Meaning, Put Color" mode (Stroop Effect) – Understand the word meaning and tap the button colored accordingly.

2. "Get Color, Put Meaning" mode – Identify the display color and tap the button with the matching color name.

3. Structured test sequences with multiple questions.

4. Detailed results screen after each test.

5. High scores – Track your best performance for each difficulty level.
