May 2025 PS Plus Game Linked to Hollywood Movie

It looks like one of the PlayStation Plus games for May 2025 has been leaked early. Although Sony has yet to confirm the rumors, it's being whispered that the teen slasher horror game Until Dawn will be available as a free download for PlayStation players next month. The leaked key art suggests it might be the remastered version rather than the 2014 original, but we'll keep you posted as soon as we get official confirmation.

PlayStation Plus is a premium online gaming service for PlayStation consoles, offering subscribers a range of benefits including free monthly games, limited-time trials, online multiplayer, and exclusive member discounts. Additionally, Extra and Premium members can access a vast catalog of current and classic games, while the monthly free games are open to all subscribers, regardless of their tier.

As speculated by members of the PlayStation subreddit (thanks to PushSquare), this move could be a strategic promotion for the newly released Until Dawn movie. Unfortunately, the movie didn't meet expectations, earning a disappointing 5/10 from IGN. Our review stated, "Until Dawn is more disappointing than deadly, leaving all the promise of the horror game behind for a jumble of horror-movie recreations."
