Alicia Silverstone Returns for Clueless Sequel Series

Fans of the iconic 1995 film *Clueless* are in for a treat as Alicia Silverstone is set to don the yellow and plaid once more, reprising her role as Cher Horowitz in an upcoming sequel series on Peacock. The project, currently in development, promises to continue the beloved story, though specific plot details are still under wraps. This new venture marks a departure from a previously planned Clueless spin-off that Peacock had in the works back in 2020.

The creative team behind this exciting revival includes Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, renowned for their work on the original *Gossip Girl* series and its reboot, alongside Jordan Weiss. Together, they will write and executive produce the series. They're joined by Amy Heckerling, the original writer-director of *Clueless*, and Robert Lawrence, the film's producer, ensuring a strong connection to the source material. CBS Studios and Universal Television are also on board to produce this anticipated series.

This isn't the first time *Clueless* has made the jump to the small screen. Following the film's success, a television adaptation aired on ABC and UPN from 1996 to 1999, featuring Rachel Blanchard in the lead role instead of Silverstone. Silverstone herself recently revisited her iconic character in a 2023 Super Bowl commercial for Rakuten, indicating her eagerness to step back into Cher's world.
