Ubisoft Mainz has unveiled a new trailer showcasing Anno 1800: Pax Romana, offering fresh details about the game's setting and gameplay. While previously announced as featuring Lazio and Albion, the trailer suggests Lazio serves as a tutorial area before the main game unfolds in Albion.
Creative Director Manuel Rainer explains that Lazio starts idyllically, but a catastrophic event forces players to seek a new home in the challenging British Isles (Albion). Albion presents a stark contrast to Lazio, characterized by a harsh climate, rebellious tribes, and its geographical distance from Rome, all posing significant governance challenges.
Players take on the role of a governor, tasked with overcoming these obstacles through diplomacy and strategic management, not just military force. Respecting local customs and traditions will be key to success. A notable feature is the customizable ship design, allowing players to prioritize speed with oarsmen or firepower with archery turrets.
Anno 1800: Pax Romana is scheduled for release in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X.
