Kai: Encountered early in Dawnshore, near Paradis, Kai, a formidable ex-mercenary with a tender heart, is your first true companion. His tank-like capabilities in combat, coupled with fire-based abilities to clear obstacles and uncover hidden treasures, make him an invaluable asset. His upgradable abilities include:

• Fire and Ire (Active): A powerful blunderbuss shot that stuns and taunts a single enemy.
• Unbending Defense (Active): Regenerates health and increases damage reduction.
• Leap of Daring (Active): A stunning, taunting leap attack.
• Second Win (Passive): Revives with 50% health upon death.

Marius: Found in Dawnshore, Marius shares a history with Kai. This skilled hunter and tracker brings his expertise to both narrative and gameplay. His "Hunter Sense" helps locate loot and crafting materials, while his combat prowess utilizes bow and arrow, daggers, and nature-based traps. His abilities include:

• Binding Roots (Active): Roots an enemy in place.
• Heart Seeker (Active): A piercing shot that ignores obstacles.
• Shadow Step (Active): Vanishes and attacks an enemy up to three times.
