Atomfall: A New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England

Rebellion Developments, renowned for the Sniper Elite series, ventures into new territory with Atomfall, a first-person survival game set in a 1960s alternate England devastated by nuclear war. A recent seven-minute gameplay trailer offers a detailed look at the game's mechanics and setting.

The trailer establishes Atomfall's post-apocalyptic atmosphere, hinting at similarities to titles like Fallout and STALKER. Players will navigate quarantine zones, explore dilapidated villages and research bunkers, and scavenge resources to survive. Enemies include robots and cultists, alongside the dangers of the ravaged environment itself.

Combat will blend melee and ranged encounters. While the trailer showcases a relatively basic arsenal (cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, bolt-action rifle), it emphasizes weapon upgrades and the potential for discovering a wider array of firearms. Crafting plays a crucial role, allowing players to create healing items and tools such as Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in locating hidden supplies and crafting materials. Skill progression is also highlighted, with unlockable abilities categorized into melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning.

Initially revealed at Xbox's Summer Game Fest showcase, Atomfall will launch on March 27th for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. Rebellion plans to release another in-depth video soon, so fans should stay tuned for further updates.
