PlayBaldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 new subclasses: ---------------------------------------

Bard - College of Glamour
As a College of Glamour Bard, you'll wield the power to both heal allies and command enemies. Use Mantle of Inspiration to grant your allies 5 temporary hit points, and when enemies attack during this spell, they'll be Charmed. With Mantle of Majesty, you can manipulate these Charmed enemies, making them flee, move closer, freeze, drop to the ground, or even drop their weapons.

Barbarian - Path of Giants
Choose the Path of Giants to harness your giant strength, making it easier to throw both friends and foes. With the Giant’s Rage passive, you gain increased strength and size, enhancing your Throw attacks' damage and boosting your carry capacity.

Cleric - Death Domain
As a Death Domain Cleric, you'll have access to new necrotic damage spells and three new necromancy cantrips, including Toll The Dead, which deals 1-8 damage and scales if the target is already hurt. You can also detonate nearby corpses to damage enemies around them.

Druid - Circle of Stars
Circle of Stars Druids draw power from the stars, adopting one of three Starry Forms: the Archer, Chalice, and Dragon. Each form enhances different playstyles, from dealing radiant damage to healing and improving constitution rolls, offering versatile strategic options.

Paladin - Oath of the Crown
Sworn to uphold the law, Oath of the Crown Paladins can guide allies in battle with Righteous Clarity, taunt enemies, and use Divine Allegiance to absorb damage and heal party members.

Fighter - Arcane Archer
The Arcane Archer combines magic with archery, featuring unique skills and new shooting animations. You can banish foes to the Feywild or unleash Psychic damage that may blind enemies.

Monk - Drunken Master
As a Drunken Master Monk, you can drink alcohol from your inventory or around the Sword Coast to recover Ki. With Intoxicating Strike, you'll gain buffs to Armour Class and hit chance against drunk targets, and use Sobering Realisation to deal physical and Psychic damage.

Ranger - Swarmkeeper
Swarmkeeper Rangers can summon three types of swarms: Cloud of Jellyfish for lightning damage, Flurry of Moths for Psychic damage and potential blindness, and Legion of Bees for piercing damage and knockback, each also providing teleportation capabilities.

Rogue - Swashbuckler
The Swashbuckler Rogue subclass offers actions like throwing sand to Blind enemies, flicking a weapon to Disarm them, and using Fancy Footwork to avoid opportunity attacks during melee.

Sorcerer - Shadow Magic
Shadow Magic Sorcerers excel in darkness, gaining Superior Darkvision and the ability to Shadow Walk. They can also summon a Hound of Ill Omen and use Strength of the Grave to avoid being downed, perfect for Honour Mode.

Warlock - Hexblade
Hexblade Warlocks form pacts with Shadowfell entities, gaining magical weapons. They can curse enemies, raise spirits from non-elemental, non-construct, non-giant, non-undead foes to deal necrotic damage and heal themselves.

Wizard - Bladesinging
Bladesinging Wizards blend swordplay with magic, featuring new spellcasting animations, a Bladesong ability for enhanced speed and focus, and a bonus to Constitution saving throws.

18 ImagesPatch 8 marks the final major update for Baldur’s Gate 3, concluding a remarkable journey for Larian Studios. The game, launched in 2023, received critical acclaim and enjoyed substantial commercial success, continuing to sell well into 2025.

Larian's decision to move away from Baldur’s Gate 3 and Dungeons & Dragons to focus on a new, undisclosed project has shocked the gaming community. However, Hasbro, the owner of D&D, has hinted at continuing the series. Speaking at the Game Developers Conference, Dan Ayoub, SVP of digital games at Hasbro, mentioned that with Larian moving on, there is significant interest in Baldur's Gate. While specifics are scarce, Ayoub expressed a desire for a Baldur's Gate 4, though he acknowledged it would take time.

"It's somewhat of an unenviable position," Ayoub stated. "We're not in a hurry. We're going to take a very measured approach... We've got a lot of plans, a lot of different ways to go about it. We're starting to think about, okay, yeah, we're ready to start dipping toes a little bit and talking about a few things. And I think, in really short order, like I said, again, not to over-tease that point, we're going to have some other things to talk about around that."

Meanwhile, Larian will celebrate the release of Patch 8 with a Twitch livestream featuring senior systems designer Ross Stephens, who will discuss the new changes and additions in detail.
