The Dark Knight's reign in the video game world was once a consistent stream of new releases. Rocksteady's Batman Arkham series, in particular, significantly impacted the superhero game genre, setting a high bar that continues to influence developers today.
However, the Bat-signal has dimmed somewhat in recent years. A true, standalone Batman game hasn't graced our screens since 2017's The Enemy Within, and there's currently no official word on a new entry. While the future holds exciting superhero game releases, fans eager to don the cowl will find the best experiences by revisiting the past.
Updated December 23, 2024 by Mark Sammut: 2024 surprisingly brought some Batman-related game releases. While Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League featured Batman, it's not a focused Batman title. More significantly, the Arkhamverse expanded with a new VR experience. This entry has been updated to reflect these recent additions, including expanded details on the VR game and updated image galleries for several top-tier Batman titles.
