The mythology-inspired MOBA, Battle Crush, has now entered its early access phase, available on mobile, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. Engage in thrilling battles with a diverse roster of 15 characters, dubbed 'Calixers,' drawing inspiration from mythological and folkloric figures—even dinosaurs—as you strive to be the last one standing.
If we were to draw a comparison, Battle Crush could be seen as an all-ages version of Smite, though this is a simplification. The game blends traditional MOBA mechanics with elements reminiscent of platform fighters like Super Smash Bros. It's designed for a faster, more frantic pace, ideal for mobile gaming, though it might not satisfy hardcore League of Legends players who prefer more complex controls.
We had the opportunity to go hands-on with Battle Crush previously, and our overall impression was positive, though we felt it could benefit from more distinctive features. While it's certainly worth trying out, you might want to keep an eye on its development throughout the early access period.
Battle Crush launches with three engaging game modes: Battle Royale, a familiar format where you fight to be the last survivor; a 3v3 Brawl for team-based action; and a 1v1 Duel mode for intense one-on-one battles. A standout feature is the full cross-play support across all platforms, ensuring your progress seamlessly transfers whether you're playing on mobile, Switch, or Steam.
You can dive into Battle Crush right now on the App Store and Google Play. If you're on the hunt for other exciting games, don't miss our latest feature on the top five new mobile games to try this week, or explore our comprehensive list of the best mobile games of 2024 (so far)!
