You'll first encounter Uth Duna in the Scarlet Forest during Chapter 1's mission questline. After defeating Lala Barina and Congalala, you'll join Olivia and Erik investigating a nearby dam. Aptly nicknamed "A Feast in the Deep," Uth Duna emerges when the Scarlet Forest's waters rise. As the region's apex predator, it's a tougher challenge than previous encounters. Before engaging, equip a thunder-element weapon (obtainable in Mission 2-2 with Rey Dau, if available), or wear gear/talismans boosting water resistance (like Water Charm I). A hearty meal beforehand is also recommended to maximize your health and stamina. Don't forget Nulberries to counter Uth Duna's Waterblight status ailment.

Uth Duna Attacks and Weaknesses

Uth Duna weak points Uth Duna's iridescent fins act as a temporary defensive "Veil," slowing its movements. Breaking this veil increases its aggression but exposes its weak points (illustrated above). Its attacks primarily utilize its immense size, creating disruptive water waves. Key attacks to watch for include: Belly Slam, Roar, Body Coil, Aerial Twirl, and Leg Swipe. Its weak points are its Head (breakable), Mouth, Tail (breakable), and both Forelegs (both breakable).
