"Beloved Sims Character Joins The Sims 4"

by Nova May 03,2025

Attention, Sim enthusiasts—brace yourselves! The notorious Burglar is making a grand return to your virtual lives with the latest update for The Sims 4. Available now on PC and consoles, this update brings back the iconic Robin Banks, urging you to secure your valuables tightly. She typically prowls under the cover of night, targeting homes when their occupants are slumbering, but don't let your guard down—Robin has been known to attempt audacious heists even when Sims are wide awake.

To thwart this crafty thief, your Sims can install a burglar alarm. Should Robin trigger it, the police will swiftly arrive to apprehend her and retrieve your stolen goods. Even without an alarm, a quick call to the authorities can save the day. Alternatively, if you prefer a more hands-on approach, consider taking matters into your own hands with some vigilante justice.

The Burglar is finally in The Sims 4, over 10 years after it came out. Image credit: EA.Burglar events are designed to be rare, but if you crave more excitement, you can increase your chances by activating the Lot Challenge Heist Havoc.

"We are so thrilled to finally bring the Burglar back into The Sims universe," The Sims' team expressed. "A big thank you to our dedicated team for making this happen. Robin Banks isn't just here to pilfer your Sims' possessions—she's ready to capture your hearts as well! What better way to celebrate The Sims' 25th Birthday than with this nostalgic yet fresh addition? We can't wait to see the chaos Robin Banks will unleash in your households."

Despite The Sims 4 celebrating its 10th anniversary and the franchise marking 25 years, the game continues to thrive. Last year alone, it welcomed over 15 million new players. According to EA's Q2 earnings report from late last year, The Sims 4, once a premium title, took four years to reach 20 million unique players. However, upon going free-to-play in 2022, it saw an incredible surge, gaining 31 million new players immediately and reaching a total of 85 million players by May 2024. And while fans eagerly await the next installment, there are currently no plans for The Sims 5… Plum!
