Supercell, the masterminds behind hits like Clash of Clans and Brawl Stars, have been quietly working on a new project called Boat Game. They've just lifted the veil slightly by announcing the recruitment for its first alpha test. If you're eager to dive in, here's what you need to know.
The announcement was made in typical Supercell fashion—subtle and intriguing. Frame, Supercell's community manager, dropped a teaser trailer on X (formerly Twitter), which is also available on YouTube for your viewing pleasure.
To join the alpha test of Supercell's Boat Game, you can sign up through this link. Be warned, the developers are selective, aiming to assemble a diverse group of testers. Only a limited number of players will gain access, so if you're interested, don't hesitate to apply.
That's the million-dollar question. From the trailer, it appears to be an intriguing blend of third-person shooting and boat combat. Imagine sailing the high seas, skillfully dodging cannon fire, then leaping onto an island to engage in pirate-style run-and-gun action. There are also some surreal elements in the clips, hinting at possible battle royale features. You can watch the trailer right here and decide if you want to sign up for the alpha test.
Rumors surfaced last year about Supercell developing a third-person shooter codenamed 'boatgame.' This could very well be the project, though, with Supercell's track record of quickly launching and possibly scrapping games that don't meet their high standards, there's no guarantee it will see a full release.
Despite the uncertainties, Boat Game's unique mix of land and sea gameplay is certainly worth keeping an eye on. For more updates, be sure to visit their official website.
