Gems are crucial in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, providing significant battle advantages. This guide details their crafting process and strategic use.

Unlocking Gem Crafting:

To begin crafting, join Liu Bei's Volunteer Army in Chapter 1. Visiting an Inn will trigger a letter from Zhang Fei, introducing Gems and their raw material: Pyroxene.

Acquiring Pyroxene:

Pyroxene is found throughout the game world as large, jewel-like formations. These spawn randomly, so explore diligently between battles. Completing side quests, collecting Old Coins, and reading Inn letters also yield Pyroxene.

Gem Crafting Process:

Once you've gathered Pyroxene, return to an Inn to craft Gems. The crafting process is randomized. The number of Pyroxene used doesn't affect the outcome; it's always random. However, a white glowing aura around a Gem type in the crafting menu indicates that only Gems of that type can be created during that session.

Gem Leveling and Strategic Use:

Repeatedly crafting a specific Gem type levels it up, increasing its benefits. Since you can only equip one Gem at a time initially, choose wisely. The Wellspring Gem, for example, heals you based on enemy kills, ideal for large-scale battles. Conversely, the Ascendence Gem boosts your block chance against officers, better suited for duels. While initial buffs are modest, they become increasingly impactful over time.
