As your first boss encounter in the game, Yetuga sets the tone for the challenges ahead. After mastering the combat mechanics, you'll need to employ every skill at your disposal to emerge victorious. Yetuga is an aggressive adversary, relentlessly attacking when its territory is threatened, particularly at the end of the Mount Heinmach level. This boss can unleash both long and short-range attacks, including a devastating leaping slam.

Your strategy will hinge on effective dodging and parrying to minimize damage. Yetuga's arsenal includes:

  • A two-hit combo starting with a left-handed downward smash followed by a right-handed uppercut.
  • A four-hit combo with horizontal swipes using either arm.
  • A powerful downward smash with both arms.
  • A leaping single-handed smash.
  • A jumping grab.
  • A charge attack.

Throughout the battle, you'll need to learn Yetuga's attack patterns and strike during the brief windows between its assaults. Parrying, except for the jumping grab, will not only help you avoid damage but also deal significant Stamina damage to the boss. Exploit Yetuga's aggressive nature by dodging its charge and allowing it to crash into a wall, leaving it momentarily vulnerable. This is your chance to attack and potentially shatter the ice spikes on its back, weakening its offensive capabilities.

In the second phase, you can parry all of Yetuga's attacks except the grab, conserving your Stamina. Maintain relentless pressure to push Yetuga into its next stage. When it roars and powers up, create some distance. It will then grab a giant rock to smash at you, so time your dodge or parry perfectly to avoid the impact. Be wary of its frost breath, which spawns ice spikes; either move out of the way or parry when the attack reaches you. Seize opportunities to use Potent Attacks, and when Yetuga is exhausted, unleash a Brutal Attack for significant damage. With persistence, Yetuga will soon fall.

Upon defeating Yetuga, you'll be rewarded with 4,800 Lacrima, along with Frozen Mountain gear items and the Necklace of Resolve.

That's everything you need to know to triumph over Yetuga in *The First Berserker: Khazan*. For more tips and strategies, be sure to check out The Escapist.
