Unlike recent mainline entries, this title returns to the fluid, real-time combat system reminiscent of the original Kiryu saga, starring Goro Majima in a Hawaiian adventure following the events of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

RGG Studio, the developers behind the Like a Dragon series, also made waves at the 2024 Game Awards, unveiling Virtua Fighter 6 and a new IP, Project Century. While their involvement with Virtua Fighter 6 surprised many, Project Century, a 1915 Japan-set action brawler, generated significant buzz and speculation about its connection to the Yakuza/Like a Dragon universe.
