Dragon Quest X Offline is coming to Japanese mobile devices! The popular MMORPG spin-off, previously available on consoles and PC, will launch tomorrow on iOS and Android in Japan. This offline version offers a single-player experience at a discounted price.
Gematsu reports that this release fulfills a long-standing desire for mobile access to Dragon Quest X, initially planned for mobile back in 2013 by Ubitu. Unlike other Dragon Quest games, X features real-time combat and other MMORPG elements. The offline version, released in 2022, removes the online component.
A Japan-Only Release (For Now)
Unfortunately, a global release for Dragon Quest X Offline on mobile isn't currently announced. The original Dragon Quest X was exclusive to Japan, and while a mobile port is exciting news for Japanese players, international availability remains uncertain. This is disappointing for fans outside Japan, including this writer, who has fond memories of past Dragon Quest titles.
