"Open Drive: Steer with Your Eyes, Now on Android Early Access"

Open Drive, the innovative racing game for mobile devices, is now available in early access on Android. Developed by the charity organization SpecialEffect in collaboration with Sun & Moon Studios, this game stands out for its commitment to accessibility, enabling players to enjoy the thrill of racing no matter their physical capabilities.

What’s the Game About?

Open Drive is designed with inclusivity at its core, offering multiple control options such as touch, keyboard and mouse, switch access, and controllers. This flexibility ensures that everyone can play the way that suits them best. One of the standout features is the mobile-specific eye control, allowing players with eye gaze cameras to steer their vehicles simply by looking left or right. This groundbreaking feature significantly enhances accessibility, particularly for players who face physical challenges and are often excluded from games that only support traditional input methods. The game spans four distinct open worlds: Stunt, Speed, Snow, and Meadow, each offering unique driving experiences.

The gameplay in Open Drive is highly adaptable. Players can enjoy leisurely drives while collecting orbs, or they can aim for high scores by performing daring jumps with vehicles like the Roadster, Trickster, or Speedster. The game also allows players to adjust the speed to their preference, making it suitable for both casual and competitive players. Open Drive Is Now Out in Early Access

Currently available on Android in early access, Open Drive automatically detects and adapts to the player's chosen control method. It fully supports Switch Access on Android, ensuring a seamless experience for all users. Each input method has tailored setups; for instance, touch controls offer 'Precise' and 'Classic' modes, allowing players to steer either by tapping or directional control.

While the eye control functionality is not yet fully implemented in the early access version, it will be available when the full version launches later this summer, free of charge. If Open Drive piques your interest, you can explore it now on the Google Play Store.
