The open beta weekend for Dune: Awakening has just concluded, and fans uncovered a significant exploit that allows players to keep their enemies stunned indefinitely. Dive deeper to understand this PvP-disrupting bug and what the game's developers, Funcom, intend to do about it.

During the Dune: Awakening open beta weekend, players got a taste of the game's initial 20-25 hours and various other features. On May 10, during the Global LAN Party livestream, an exploit was discovered that allows players to stun their opponents in PvP indefinitely.
The "stunlock exploit" occurs when a player continuously uses quick knife attacks against opponents who have depleted their stamina. This leaves the target unable to defend, use abilities, or escape, effectively trapping them in a continuous stagger state.
This issue gained widespread attention after being showcased on livestreams by popular streamers Tyler1 and Shroud.

During the same Global LAN Party livestream, Funcom's developers directly observed the stunlock exploit and promptly addressed the issue. Dune: Awakening World Director Jeff Gagné and Lead Producer Ole Andreas Haley assured players that this bug would be resolved before the game's official release.
Gagné stated, "We got this covered. It's not like 'Oh my god, we haven't thought about it.' It's already going away." With the open beta weekend now concluded, the developers have received valuable feedback to ensure the game is optimized for its upcoming launch.
Dune: Awakening is slated to launch on June 10, 2025, for PC, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S releases to follow at a later, yet-to-be-announced date. Stay tuned to our site for the latest updates on Dune: Awakening!
