Nintendo enthusiasts have a new hotspot to visit as the company opens its second official store in the United States today, May 15, in San Francisco's Union Square at 331 Powell Street. This exciting new addition, known as Nintendo San Francisco, follows the success of the rebranded Nintendo NY store, which underwent renovations and reopened in 2016 after being known as the Nintendo World Store.
IGN had the opportunity to explore the new San Francisco store firsthand and discover what Nintendo has in store for its fans. Additionally, IGN sat down with Nintendo of America's President, Doug Bowser, to delve into the reasons behind opening their first West Coast store at this time.
With the highly anticipated launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 set for June 5, IGN took the chance to ask Bowser about the availability of the Switch 2 in the U.S. at launch and beyond. The conversation also touched on the controversial Game-Key Cards and other pertinent topics surrounding this new console.
