Marvel Rivals Unveils "The Maker," a New Mister Fantastic Skin

A new skin for Mister Fantastic, dubbed "The Maker," has been revealed for Marvel Rivals. This villainous skin will debut alongside the character himself on January 10th, coinciding with the launch of Season 1: Eternal Night Falls.

The Maker skin depicts an alternate, Ultimate timeline version of Reed Richards. Unlike his heroic counterpart, this Mister Fantastic is a villain, his appearance scarred from a battle with the Human Torch, and masked to conceal his disfigurement. The skin boasts a sleek black and gray design accented with a glowing blue circle on the chest and back, and a slate-colored mask featuring a blue visor. Gameplay footage showcases the suit's dynamic stretching and shape-shifting capabilities. Invisible Woman will also receive a villainous counterpart skin, Malice.

Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, promises a wealth of new content beyond The Maker skin. This includes a new game mode, "Doom Match," a free-for-all battle royale for 8-12 players where the top 50% win. Expect balance adjustments for numerous heroes, and the introduction of new maps, including a dark, dystopian version of New York City.

While NetEase Games has been steadily revealing upcoming skins, data miners have uncovered further unreleased cosmetics, including a Lunar New Year skin for Spider-Man and additional skins for Hulk, Scarlet Witch, and Doctor Strange. The release timing and methods for these additional skins remain unconfirmed, but many players anticipate their inclusion in the Season 1 battle pass.
