Finn Jones Acknowledges Iron Fist Critiques, Aims to Prove Doubters Wrong

by Adam May 04,2025

Charlie Cox's successful transition from Netflix to the MCU as Daredevil has sparked speculation about the potential return of other Defenders characters. Finn Jones, who portrayed Danny Rand, aka Iron Fist, in the Netflix series, recently expressed his eagerness to reprise his role. At the LaConve anime convention in Monterrey, NL, Mexico, Jones openly discussed his readiness to return, despite the mixed reception his character received in the past.

Jones last donned the Iron Fist mantle in Season 2 of the Netflix series and in the crossover event, The Defenders, where he teamed up with Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter). While fans had varied responses to Jones' portrayal, the actor remains hopeful. Addressing the criticism head-on, Jones stated, "My response to that is like, give me a f\*\*\*ing chance, man. I’m here and I’m ready. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen."

The integration of the Netflix series into the MCU canon, as seen with Daredevil: Born Again, has fueled speculation about the return of other Defenders. This new series directly continues the story from Netflix, and with Jon Bernthal's Punisher also making the jump, the possibility of seeing other characters like Iron Fist in the MCU seems increasingly plausible.

Recent reports suggest Marvel is exploring the idea of bringing back The Defenders, which has raised hopes among fans. Jones is keenly aware of the fans' divided opinions but remains optimistic about his potential return. His candid remarks at the convention reflect a strong desire to redeem his character and contribute positively to the MCU.
