Say Goodbye to 6 Games on Xbox Game Pass, Including Multiplayer Gems

by Ellie Feb 12,2025

Six Xbox Game Pass titles are departing on January 15th, primarily affecting multiplayer game enthusiasts. This bi-monthly content rotation is typical for Xbox Game Pass, with the last purge occurring on December 31st.

The six games leaving the service are: Escape Academy, Those Who Remain, Exoprimal, Insurgency: Sandstorm, Figment: Journey Into the Mind, and Common'hood. Half of these are multiplayer focused. Escape Academy, notably a day-one release in July 2022, offers a lauded co-op mode.

Xbox Game Pass Departures - January 15th

Game Platform(s) Added Estimated Playthrough
Common'hood Cloud, Console, PC Jul 2023 23–36 hours
Escape Academy Cloud, Console, PC Jul 2022 5–6 hours
Exoprimal Cloud, Console, PC Jul 2023 28–39 hours
Figment: Journey Into the Mind Cloud, Console, PC Jan 2024 5–6.5 hours
Insurgency: Sandstorm Cloud, Console, PC Nov 2022 80–118 hours
Those Who Remain Cloud, Console, PC Jan 2024 6–8 hours

While most games are removed near the end of the day, console players of Escape Academy should note the urgency, as the PC version becomes free on the Epic Games Store on January 16th. Shorter titles like Figment and Those Who Remain offer ample time for completion before removal.

The next wave of removals is anticipated on January 31st, with announcements expected alongside the January 2025 Wave 2 lineup, including Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, Eternal Strands, Sniper Elite: Resistance, and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector. Further updates are anticipated around January 23rd, coinciding with the Xbox Developer Direct.
