When it comes to Android, the Google Pixel line offers some of the best phones on the market. The Pixel 9 series, released just last year, boasts one of the most impressive cameras found on any smartphone today, alongside AI features that are not only innovative but also a delight to experiment with. The "Pro" versions of these phones are priced competitively, making them an excellent budget-friendly alternative to iPhones.
If you're considering a new phone purchase, now's the time to act. Both Amazon and Best Buy have slashed the price of the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL to an all-time low. The price of this top-tier phone from the latest generation has now dipped below the lowest price ever recorded for the standard Pixel 9 last week.
Lowest-Ever Price### Google Pixel 9 Pro XL (128 GB)

This marks the lowest price we've seen on the Pixel 9 Pro XL since its launch last year. It matches the lowest price ever seen on the standard Pixel 9 at $599 and is $200 less than the best price noted last month. This represents an unbeatable deal on a premium unlocked Android phone, making it the perfect time to upgrade if you're in the market.
The primary distinction between the Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro XL is the screen size. The XL model features a 6.8-inch display, slightly larger than its counterpart. Both models are powered by the Google Tensor G4 chip, ensuring robust performance across the board.

Although we didn't review the XL, our mobile expert Mark Knapp reviewed the Pixel 9 Pro upon its release last year. Here's a brief overview of his thoughts:
"The Pixel 9 Pro stands out as an exceptional camera phone. Its array of sensors and advanced Pro controls make it a versatile tool for both casual and serious photographers. Beyond its photography prowess, it's a reliable smartphone with sufficient performance for daily tasks and even some demanding gaming. While it may not match the raw power of devices like the OnePlus 12 or Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, it's unlikely that any of these phones will struggle in everyday use for quite some time. It would be ideal if Google's AI features were more integrated and prominent on the Pixel 9 Pro's hardware, as they currently feel somewhat limited. However, Google's software shortcomings do not detract from the Pixel 9 Pro being a great phone overall; they simply prevent it from being truly exceptional. Its excellent hardware, sleek design, and compact size make it an especially appealing choice for those seeking a smaller phone without significant compromises."
If you're considering waiting for the next generation of Pixel phones before making a purchase, you'll need to be patient. Google is expected to launch the Pixel 10 series around August or early September, similar to this year's schedule. These new models typically hit the market a month or two before the latest iPhones are released.
With this timeline in mind, the best deals on the Pixel 9 series are likely to appear around Prime Day in July. However, it's unlikely that the price of the Pixel 9 Pro XL will drop below the current offer.
