Japanese Switch 2 Priced Lower Than Global Version

by Audrey May 02,2025

The highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 will feature distinct pricing strategies in Japan and globally, offering two different versions of the system. The Japanese version, exclusive to Japan, will be priced at approximately $330, while the Multi-Language System version, available worldwide, will be set at $449.99. This significant price difference of over $100 is largely due to the current weakness of the yen against the USD, making it less appealing for tourists to buy in Japan.

Switch 2 Will Have 2 Language System Versions

The Nintendo Switch 2 will come in two versions: a Japanese-language system, available only in Japan, and a Multi-Language System, accessible worldwide. The Japanese version, priced at around $330, will be exclusively sold in Japan and can only be linked to Nintendo Accounts set to the Japan region. This version will support only the Japanese language and will be limited to software available on the Japanese Nintendo eShop. On the other hand, the Multi-Language System, priced at $449.99, caters to a global audience and supports multiple languages. Nintendo advises fans interested in using the Switch 2 in languages other than Japanese to opt for the Multi-Language System version. More details about this version will be unveiled on April 4.
