Unlocking the Secrets of the Lake: A Guide to Completing "The Axe From the Lake" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 offers a wealth of optional quests, and "The Axe From the Lake" is definitely one worth pursuing. This guide will walk you through the steps to complete it and claim your reward.

Initiating the Quest:

To begin, head to the Tachov tavern and speak with Zdenyek the Mouth. Engage him in conversation, prompting him to share something interesting. He'll reveal details about a legendary axe hidden within the lake, setting your quest in motion.

Locating the Axe:

Before embarking on your search, gather a spade. These can be found in graveyards or purchased from general traders. Your objective marker will cover a wide area; begin at the pier overlooking the water.

Follow the path north from the pier. You'll pass an undamaged tree (Henry will comment on it), then a large rock (another comment from Henry). Continue along the path until you reach a gravesite near a tree. Digging this grave yields a gemstone silver ring, five marigolds, and—crucially—a broken axe.

Restoring the Axe:

Take the broken axe to Radovan, the blacksmith in Tachov. He'll repair it for you, but you'll need a fastening material and a substantial sum of 699.5 groschen. Radovan can also supply the fastening material if needed. Once repaired, you'll possess the Adorned Axe.

Quest Completion:

Return to Zdenyek the Mouth to complete the quest. You'll keep the Adorned Axe, a formidable weapon for your battles.
