Marvel Rivals fans have voiced their concerns about the game's reward system, particularly the difficulty in obtaining nameplates without spending real money. Launched in December 2024, the game introduced its Season 0 cycle with a limited set of rewards and skins. However, the recently released Season 1 update has expanded the battle pass with ten character skins and various customization options like nameplates, sprays, and emotes.
A Reddit user, DaPurpleDerpleOf, highlighted the issue on the Marvel Rivals fan hub, suggesting a solution to convert Lore Banners into nameplate rewards. This proposal stems from the fact that nameplates, which are highly sought after for player distinction, are often locked behind the battle pass or available only for purchase with real money. Many fans find Lore Banners visually appealing and believe they could serve as an effective alternative to nameplates.
In addition to the battle pass, Marvel Rivals features a Proficiency Points system, where players earn points by engaging with the game's characters, dealing damage, and defeating enemies. While this system offers various rewards, fans argue that nameplates should be included to better showcase their skill and mastery. "Proficiency rewards are super lacking. I hope they add more tiers and rewards down the line," one player commented, with another calling the inclusion of nameplates a "no-brainer."
The Season 1 update also introduced significant changes, including the addition of Sue Storm and Mister Fantastic from The Fantastic Four, along with new maps and modes. The rest of The Fantastic Four are expected to join later, with Season 1 set to run until mid-April. As Marvel Rivals continues to evolve, addressing fan feedback on its reward system could enhance player satisfaction and engagement.
