If you're a *Fortnite* fan looking for some thrilling gameplay, you'll want to dive into The Getaway, a Limited Time Mode that returned in Chapter 6 Season 2 after its initial debut in Chapter 1 Season 5. Here's everything you need to know about playing The Getaway, including its duration.
Jumping into The Getaway is straightforward. Start by launching *Fortnite* on your preferred platform. Once in the Lobby, navigate to the Discover tab. Here, you'll find The Getaway; simply hit the Play button to queue up for this exciting mode. If it doesn't show up right away, use the search bar at the top left of the Lobby, type in "The Getaway," and it should appear instantly.
The Getaway is an action-packed heist-style mode where your mission is to snatch a jewel from the map and make a swift escape in a Getaway Van. It's a PvP mode, pitting you against other teams vying for the same prize. Victory goes to the first three teams that successfully secure a jewel and escape, though you can also win by eliminating rival teams. This iteration of The Getaway is especially exciting because it's available in Zero Build mode, perfect for those who prefer to skip the building aspect of *Fortnite*. You can play in Duos, Squads, Unranked, and Ranked formats.
The Getaway is currently live in *Fortnite*, but don't miss out—it's set to disappear on April 1 at 12 a.m. Eastern Time. Make sure to play during this window, as you'll earn XP that contributes to your Battle Pass progression.
That's all you need to know about playing The Getaway in *Fortnite*. For more tips and detailed information on the game, check out The Escapist.
