A new and charming puzzle game named Mino has just hit the Android scene, offering a delightful twist on the classic match-3 formula. If you enjoy games where you match three or more identical items to clear them, Mino will feel familiar, but with an exciting new challenge.
The core mechanic of Mino revolves around balance. As you match pieces, known as Minos, you must also maintain the stability of the game board. Every move you make causes the board to tilt, adding a layer of strategy to the game. If you're not careful, your Minos can slide off the board, ending your game prematurely. Thus, while matching Minos, you must consider how your placements impact the board's equilibrium.
Time is of the essence in Mino, but don't worry—there are power-ups to aid you. You can clear entire columns, use rockets to stabilize the board, and deploy wildcard Minos that can match with any other piece. Upgrading these power-ups enhances your chances of lasting longer and achieving higher scores. Additionally, you can unlock and upgrade different types of Minos to increase your in-game earnings.
Developed by Otori Studios, Mino's characters, the Minos, seem to draw inspiration from the beloved Minions. These Minos are reminiscent of the yellow, pill-shaped creatures, but they come in a vibrant array of colors. Their playful art style and monster-like appearance give the game a whimsical, toy-like vibe. I found these little creatures, with their tiny spikes and adorable stubby tails, to be quite charming.
Mino offers a fun and unique gaming experience, combining a fresh concept with a decent level of challenge. Its colorful and engaging design, along with the delightful Minos, makes it a must-try. You can download Mino for free from the Google Play Store, available globally.
